2. 课前把学生进行分组,为小组活动做准备。

教学过程:

Step One: Warming up

I. Answer the questions about daily life: What time do you get up? Do you play the piano every day? When do you have breakfast? How do you go to school? Where do you have lunch? What time do you go home? Do you read books in the evening? Do you see a film on weekends? Do you take a walk after dinner? What time do you go to bed? Do you watch TV on weekdays? Do you help your parents do the housework?

II. Talk about your daily life. Invite two students to talk about their daily life

Step Two: Know the daily life in Australia.

Teacher introduces her student--Andy who went to Australia to the students.

I. Let the students listen to the email.

II. Read the email and circle the phrases about his daily life.

III. Check the answers with the drills: What does Andy do at …?

First, the teacher asks the question and the students answer , then let the students try to ask and answer.

IV. Talk about Andy’s daily life.

First let the students discuss in groups and then talk about his daily life with their own words.

Step Three: Review the hobbies.

T: Andy is very busy on weekdays, what does Andy do on weekends?

I. Watch a video about his weekends.

II. Watch the video again and choose the hobbies in the video.

III. Make a survey about their friends’ hobbies.

First the students can interview their group members, and then they try to say something about their friends’ hobbies. The students should use the drills: … likes …, … enjoys …, … is interested in …or …’s hobbies are…

Step Four: Game time—P41 Let’s play

Show a big clock to the students, the clock is divided into twelve parts, there is a number and some words and phrases in each part, the hand will turn around, when the students say “stop”, the hand will stop and point to a number, and the student can make up sentences with the words or phrases in this part.

The student who can make up sentences will get the mysterious present from Andy.

Step Five: Review the birthday party.

I. Make invitation cards.

Teacher tells the student that Andy wants the students help him make some invitation cards for his friends.

Each group has a bag of invitation cards with different shapes, the students can choose one they like. When the students make the invitation card, they need to know some information about Andy’s birthday party. Let the students ask the questions about the time, place, day and date, the students who get mysterious gifts will answer the questions.

II. How to celebrate his birthday—order the pictures.

Show some pictures about the activities at the birthday party, let the students number the pictures. Then invite some students to describe the birthday party.

III. Give some other advice to Andy.
