Step1 Warm up(5 minutes)
1.Greet the students by talking about the May Day holiday.
T:Our May Day holiday is over,it’s so nice to see you again.Did you have a good time during your holiday?
S:Yes.
T:Well,I will have an interview.What did you do ?
S:I.....
T:I’m glad you enjoy yourselves.And I went to a famous place ,too.Do you want to know where I went?
S:Yes.
2.Play a guessing game. Let students ask questions about the travelling and guess what the place is. And the winner will get the picture of Tian’anmen Square,which is also the main topic of this lesson.
Step2 Pre-reading
1.Lead in the new lesson (2 minutes)
Lead –in question:
T: There were so many people exploring Tian’anmen Square.So you can imagine when the three boys,Michael ,Kangkang and Darren,go to visit there,what will happen?Please look at the pictures, guess the right order and what the passage is about.
S: 1234.I think there were too many people on the square. One boy couldn’t find the other two ....……
T: But we don’t know yet.So turn to Page 39 and let’s read the passage.....
Step 3 While reading(15minutes)
1. Fast reading: Read 1a quickly ,following the requirements:
①Get the main idea and then number the pictures
②Underline the sentences in which you find the information.
