Teaching Procedures:
Step1: Warm-up
1)Welcome to my class. Let’s learn English together. Show the reward cards to the students and encourage them to do well. I learn English by doing things. What things do I do after work? Guess!
S: Tell stories. / Listen to English song…
Show the video to the students. Tell the new ways to the students: Watch American drama and read magazines。
2)Ask the students: What things do you do in and out of class?
S: We play games in English. We worked in groups. We read English…
Step2: Presentation
1) Use the ipads to do a questionnaire about English learning. Read the questions first and then do it by the students themselves.
2) Check the answers together. Tell the student: Learning from each other is important to everyone. Ask the student: What way do they like best? Learn the phrase: learn from each other.
3) Ask the other ways about English learning. Tell the students: I bought some books about drama yesterday. Learn the word group: drama, act in drama. Watch the pictures and answer the question: How did they learn English? They learned English by acting in drama.
4) Get the students to guess the place. Tell them: They had an English party. Learn the phrase: have (had) an English party.
Step 4: Chant:
1) Listen to the chant first.
2) Listen again and learn the sound [ w ]. Show some other words by the students themselves.
3) Read and show the new chant.
Step4: New friends:
Introduce some new friends to the students. Let’s learn from them one by one. Peter, Lingling and Mr. Wang. First is Peter. Use the ipads. Put the phrases into the right pictures. Then check the answers. And then answer the question: How did Peter learn English? S: He learned English by doing tasks….
Lingling is a college school student. Marking out the ways about English learning. Then one group choose one thing to have a drama show.
Mr. Wang is an English teacher. He wrote something to us. Let’s read and write. Then check the answers together.
Step 5: Work in groups:
Show the reward cards to the whole class. The cards are from PE teacher, Chinese teacher, music teacher and so on. Talk about the other subjects in groups.
S1: How did you learn PE? S2: We learned PE by running.
S1: What about you? S3: I learned PE by jumping….
2)Show the short dialogues in groups.
