Step 1 Pre-reading

Greeting. Let's see a film. It's "Tom and Jerry". Then tell me what are Tom and Jerry doing in this film?

设计意图:先提出问题,带着问题看视频,学生的注意力更集中。

观看Tom and Jerry的一段视频。

Jerry is running. And Tom is running after him. He wants to eat Jerry. Tom is a cat and Jerry is a rat. We know cats always eat rats. Do you know why?Let's find the answer in this story.

设计意图:设置悬念Why cats always eat rats?引起学生阅读故事的兴趣。

Step 2 While-reading

Let's look at this picture 1. The lion king wants to name the years. He asks the rat for help. The earliest to arrive will be the first. What’s the meaning “earliest”? Let’s read and tell me “Why the lion king asks the rat for help, not other animals?”

设计意图:培养学生分析推理的能力,引导学生分析老鼠的特点:也许老鼠善于交朋友,认识的动物多,所以狮子会派他。

Maybe the rat has many animal friends, except the cat. why?

Let’s read and tell me “Why cats always eat rats?”

展示图片,寻读。总结猫抓老鼠的原因。

学生分角色朗读对话,体会角色特点,更好的理解故事。

设计意图:引出第一条线索问题“Why cats always eat rats?”,培养学生总结概括的能力。

If you were the cat, are you angry? Maybe the rat and the cat are friends before the meeting. But they are enemy now, because the rat tells a lie to the cat.

设计意图:学生体验猫的角色,分析猫生气的原因,并指出因为老鼠说谎,从而使猫鼠成为敌人,对学生进行诚信教育。
