Step 1. Warming up: A song “ We will rock you”.
Step2. Pre-writing
1.Review how to talk about hobbies and dreams.
2. Let’s rap.
Look at the pictures, the teacher says hobbies, and students say dreams. For example, the teacher says “ I like dancing”, students say “ I want to be a dancer”.
3.Show your hobby.
Students tell and show their hobbies .The teacher interviews some of them by asking some questions.
For example: When did you start your hobby?
Where or how often do you do it?
Why do you like it?
Would you like to make your hobby your career?
( Complement some useful sentence structures)
4.Interview. In pairs,ask and answer the following questions in complete sentences. Then write down answers on the book, and show their conversations.
(1). What is your favourite hobby?
(2). When did you start your hobby?
(3). How often do you do it?
(4). Where do you do it?
(5). Do you do it alone or with a group of friends?
(6). Why do you like it?
(7). Would you like to make your hobby your career?
Step3. While-writing : My favourite hobby
1.Give writing tips and the mind map( and key words on the blackboard) to help students to write.
2.Two students write on the blackboard, and two students read their writing. (The teacher gives one student marks, and students correct and give marks to others.)
Step4. Post-writing
Read a sample and find out “what, when, how often, where, who and why”.
(Who is the fastest speaker?—— Anyone who finds out the answer stands up quickly and tells the answer.)
Find out good sentences from the sample.
