Teaching steps:

Step 1. Warm up

Greetings

T: Good morning, boys and girls!

Ss: Good morning, teacher!

T: How are you?

Ss: I’m fine, thank you!

T: Good! Sit down, please!

Play a game (Up and down !)

Now, let’s play a game to relax. Please show me your hands and follow me, OK?

Step 2. Presentation

Teach the new words and sentences

Lead in ---- Show some pictures and review the sentences “What does she/he look like? She/He is tall.” learned in the last term. And sum up the usage of “She/He is + adj.”

T shows a picture and learns the new word “kind”.

T: Boys and girls, please look at this picture. What can you see?

Ss: We can see an old woman and a dog.

T: Nice! So how is she? (T points at the old woman)

Ss: She is.....

T: She is kind. K-i-n-d, kind. Now, please follow me, k-i-n-d, kind.

Ss: .....

3) T teaches the word “kind”. When T teaches it, T will teach Ss to pronounce the word according to the phonic and spell the word letter by letter.

4) Play a game (High and low voice) to practice the word. Then, ask some Ss to read it to check if they have mastered the word.

5) Let Ss look at the picture again and have a free talk with them to learn the new sentences.

T: Ok, everyone, please look at this picture. She is an old woman.

Ss: She is kind. (If Ss don’t know how to answer, T can try to lead them.

T: Well done. She is kind.(Then T shows the sentences on the screen and let Ss read them together. Finally, T explains the sentences.)

6) Use the same methods to learn the other new words and sentences. In this step, T will lead Ss to play some different games to learn the new words. Thus, the class will be more interesting.

Step 3. Practice

In this step, there will be some different exercises to practice the words and sentences. T will let Ss have different games to practice the words.
