教材分析:
本课B、C部分是湘少版英语五年级下册 Unit 9 He’s kind to children第一课时的内容,属于口语教学,旨在有效运用这两部分的主要词汇,正确使用“He/She is … ”、“He looks …”这两种句型去简单介绍自己或他人的性格特点。
学情分析:
五年级的学生已经掌握了一些形容人物外貌特征的形容词,如beautiful、pretty、old、young、tall 、short 、fat、thin、lovely等。同时,他们在五年级上册的第一单元已经学会了用What does she/he look like?来提问人的外貌特征,也会用英语简单描述人物的外貌特征,如She's tall.She has long hair and big eyes. She has a round face.She's beautiful.因此可以判断学生对于运用已学词汇和句子描述人物外貌特征或性格特征很感兴趣。兴趣是最好的老师,因此我打算在兴趣的基础上对学生进行听、说、读、演的综合训练。
设计理念:
本课旨在通过游戏教学,激发同学们的学习兴趣,在游戏过程中巩固词汇的发音练习与语句操练,在竞赛中培养孩子们主动的语言学习习惯。
Teaching steps:
Step 1 Warm-up
1. Daily greeting.
T:Good morning,boys and girls.
Ss:Good morning,Miss Li.
T:How are you today?
Ss:I’m fine,thank you. And you?
T:I’m fine,too. Thank you. Sit down,please.
2.Game: Say the opposites “I say ___,I say ___.”
Revise the words: big/small, tall/short, old/young, long/short, thin/thick, happy/sad.
Step 2 Presentation and drill
Learn the sentences: He/She looks......
Show a picture of Lin Zhiying and Guo Degang, talk about their ages, and help Ss realize their little difference in ages but great difference in appearance. And help Ss conclude:He looks young. He looks old.
Show a picture of a sad girl and a picture of a happy boy. Help Ss conclude:She looks sad. He looks happy.
Ask students to describe these pictures.
He looks young. He looks old.

Learn the new words: kind,friendly,smart,serious,active.
