Step 1 Review and check

2. Check their preview homework.
1) Let some of the Ss read the words and then teach the words
2) Work in grou ﹨ ps to exchange and discuss the meaning of the text and translate the expressions.
3) Ask some of them to show their results.
Step 2 Presentation
Put up a map of ﹨ the w orld on the Bb. Let Ss work in pairs to talk about it.
T: Can you say something about China?
S: This ﹨ is Ch ina, our country. We come from China. We live in China. It’s in the east. It’s red on the map. It looks like a cock
T: This is a map of China. What city is it?
Ss: Beijing.
T: Yes, it’s ﹨ Beijin g, our capital. What’s the capital (city) of China? Please answer my question with a full sentence.
Ss: Beijing is the capital (city) of China.
T: Well don ﹨ e! Fro m the map, what country is east of China? (Write it on the Bb and explain it to the class.)
Ss: Canada and the U.S.
T: Right. C ﹨ anada and the U.S. are east of China. (Have Ss repeat it a few times.)
Let Ss make up sentences with Japan (日本) and Korea(韩国).
Japan is east of China.
Korea is east of China.
Step 3 Listen and read
Part 1: Play ﹨ the ta pe with their eyes closed first, then listen to the tape with their eyes open and repeat.
