Teaching Procedures

Step1 Warm-up

Listen to music.

Talk about the music and answer the questions

Present the relative clauses with “that”.

Show the Learning Aims.

(设计意图:以旧带新,引入新课,通过对学生的操练,让学生在轻松的环境中接受新知识---定语从句。)

Step2 Presentation

1.Show some sentences to the students and ask the students to read them to get the meaning of each sentence.

2.Ask the students how the two sentences become one.

Eg.: A plane is a machine. The machine can fly.

A plane is a machine the machine can fly.

A plane is a machine that/ which can fly.

3.Show the ways of changing the structures.

Learn the way to change the sentences into an Attributive clause.

(设计意图:通过读句子,让学生归纳,比较that,who,which引导的定语从句,培养自己的观察能力,也为下一步的练习打好基础。)

Step3 Summary

Summarize the key points they learned.

Step4 Consolidation

1. Give some sentences to the students and let the students finish them in groups.

2. Ask some students to show their ways.

3. Let the students finish the sentences according to the information given.

4. Have the students finish the exercises given to help them master the usage of those key points.

(设计意图:通过在不同的环节根据学生自己对生活经验和自己的兴趣爱好入手,设计不同的任务,循序渐进,将语法教学巧妙结合在任务型教学中。)

Step6 Summary and Homework

Finish the exercises by themselves.
