Step 1 Warming-up
T: The holiday is coming. Many people will go on a trip. Have you been to Xi'an before? I take a video to show you about Xi’an. After you watch it, I hope you can find out some places of interest on it.
(After showing the video, ask the students to tell what they found on it and show the pictures of some places in Xi’an.)
T: Do you want to learn more about these places?
Today please follow me to have a visit to Xi’an.
Step 2 Presentation
1、Show pictures of places of interest about Xi’an and make students learn to master some new words.
2、Help students get some basic information about the city.
Step 3、Listening
1、Play the recording for students to listen and fill the useful expressions in the blanks .
2、Check the answers.
Step 4、Reading
Ask students to read the text and find the answers about How old /long it is,what we can do and what we can’t do in each place.
Step 5、Practice
Ask students to work in pairs and do a role-play. One student will be the tour guide, the others will be the tourists.
Step 6、Writing
Give the students chances to use the language they learnt in class and Ask students to try to introduce the famous places.
