Step 1.Analysis of the student.

At lesson 3, we learned the Silk Road first stop--Xi’an, including the hi story and culture of Xi’an, the famous places of Xi’an

Next, we will learn the second stop of the Silk Road--Lanzhou

Step 2. Lead in.(引入)

Lanzhou is provincial capital city for Gansu,兰州,始建于公元前86年。据记载,因初次在这里筑城时挖出金子 ,故取名金城,还有一种说法是依据“金城汤池”的典故,喻其坚固。两汉、魏晋时在此设置金城县。十六国前凉时又移金城郡治于此。隋开皇三年(公元583年),隋文帝废郡置州,在此设立兰州总管府,“兰州”之称,始见于史册。后来虽然州、郡数次易名,但兰州的建置沿革基本固定下来,相沿至今。

Step 3. New lesson.(新课)

No. 1 Text: A visit to Lanzhou

We have known Jenny and D anny will go to LanZhou. Now I have some questions to ask you.

Ask the students to answer the questions.

1) How do they arrive to Lanzhou?

At Lanzhou, where they will go to visit?

No. 2 talking about the Yellow River and the Lanzhou Zhongshan B ridge.

First pi ctur e, talking about where,

At second picture, where is talking about?

At last picture, what are they doing?

No. 3 teach the Ss new words, and then explain the meaning of text,

Ask all Ss read the passage together.make sure the Ss can understand the text.

No. 4 practice

Say numbers: 5400km - five thousand four hun dred kilometers.

Step 4. Play the tape for the Ss to follow.

Make the Ss listen the text, and then let them read follow the tape.

Step 5.Summary.(小结)

Sum up the text what we learned, and the new words.

Homework.
