V. Learning methods
According to the new standard curriculum, I created a student- centered class and offered the students opportunities to participate in class to share and exchange their ideas with the group members actively, which made them experience in the situation, and at the same time, develop their sense of cooperation and competition.
VI. Teaching procedure
Step 1 lead in (3min)
1. Show the students two tongue twisters, and get the students to say them as fast as they can.

2. Lead in. I say the tongue twisters as fast as I can. Ask the students if they want to know my ways of learning English.
Step 2 Presentation
While talking about my way of learning English, teach the new words:
magazine, newspaper, storybook, mistake, silly
make a mistake/ make mistakes; laugh at sb. ; look up
Step 3 Listening
1. Show the students a picture of Teresa, ask the students to listen to the tape and answer the following questions:
1). What grade is Teresa in?
2). What language does she speak at home?
3). What language does she speak at school every day?
2. Get the students to introduce Teresa according to the questions and answers.
