Master the new words and phrases.
1.New words: strange, notice, wild, wake (woke/woken), surprised, surprising, dark, ski, snowball, become (became/become)
2.Phrases: wake up, notice sb. do/ doing sth., go away, become warm, go swimming/skiing/skating, have snowball fights, Good/Great work!
3.Sentences: Exclamatory sentences with what.

Teaching procedure:
Step1.Warming up and leading in. First, have a free talk. Then talk about the weather and the season.
Step2.Learn the new words. Let the students read the new words by themselves for two minutes, then check and help them read each word.
Step3.Learn the text the first time.
1.Question:How is the weather in each season? Answer the question.
2.Let the students listen to the tape and fill in the table.
2.Read the text carefully. Then check the answers in class and give some explanation if necessary.
Step4.Think about these questions and work in groups:
1.What is your favourite season?
2.What can we do in each season?
Give them 5 minutes to discuss, then write down on the paper. Later, let somebody present it in front of the class.
Step5. Language points:
1. go away 意为“走了”，在本句话中表示“(雪)融化了”。
e.g. It made me sad to hear you have to go away.
Before I go away I will say goodbye to you.
2. What strange weather!感叹句的构成
