Teaching procedure:
Step 1 Free talk
Have a talk about holiday between teacher and students to lead to new words and phrases: places of interest, together, India, Germany. The teacher uses the CAI to show some places of interest to learn new points.
T: The summer holidays are coming. Where do you want to go?
Step 2 Presentation
Create a situation to lead to 2. Use the CAI to show the each national flag to know about the names of western countries. Then listen, read and match to finish it.
T: The summer holidays are coming. It’s a good time to travel. Let’s know more names about western countries.
Lead students to listen to 1a, and find out “Where do Michael, Kangkang, Jane and Maria want to go?” Then finish 1b, match the pictures with the children.
Turn to the text to learn 1a, let the students underline that they don’t know and choose students who know to explain for him/her. Meanwhile the teacher presents 1a to replenish.
Listen to 1a and act in roles.
Step 3 Consolidation
Let the students make up new sentences with “want to”, “plan to”, “wish to”, “hope to” and “would like to”. And choose some students to show for us.
Finish 3. Listen and check the correct answers.
Finish 4a and 4b. Let the students summarize the rules of sounds, then listen and follow.
Step 4 Practice
Play a game , ask the students to choose a number they like to practice the main points .
Do a summary by themselves.
