Greet the whole class as usual. Guiding Teaching Scene: Hello! Boys and girls. Today, I’d like to tell you something about myself . I’m from Cheng Guan Middle School. So, you see. I’m a teacher. My father is a policeman, and my mother is a doctor. So actually, all of my family members do different kinds of jobs. Do you want to know more about jobs?

Teaching steps Step 1: 1. Ask students to listen to a song , then underline some words about jobs.

2. Learn some new words about jobs.

3. Play a guessing game.

Step 2: Show some language notes and examples in this lesson. Then ask students to make some sentences like them.

2. stop sb from doing sth

3. take steps to do sth

Step 3: Play the tape of Jiajia’s page for the yearbook for the students , ask them to fill in the blanks.

Step 4: Ask the students to discuss their futures in groups. Use the sentences like: A: What will you be when you grow up?

B: I will be a/an …

A: What fears do you have?

B: I have a fear of…

A :What will you do?

B: It won’t stop me from being…

I will take steps to overcome my fear.

What about you?

A: I will be a/an…

Step5: Show a picture of Harry Potter. And ask the students to write a letter about their futures to him. Use the sentences like:

I like …very much , maybe I will be… someday.
