教师出示两张自然景色的图片,一张是荒漠的图片,另一张是拥有绿色植物的公园的图片。
Ask: Look at these two pictures. Which place do you want to live in?
Why do you like the park?
Yes. All of us like to live in a place where there are green trees, green grass and beautiful flowers.(依次出示绿树、绿草和美丽花朵的图片)
But, have you ever thought about these questions? Why are there many plants around us? What functions do plants have?
Ok, let’s come to Lesson 8 Why are plants important? (引出课题)
Ss: We want to live in the park.
There are many plants in it.
学生一边欣赏PPT中的植物图片,一边倾听老师的英语说明。
跟随老师指令,进入本课学习过程中。通过两张对比鲜明的图片,让学生们选择喜欢居住的地方,从而让学生们思考为什么人们都喜欢住在有植物环绕的地方以及植物有哪些功能,进而自然地引出本课课题。

Learn words:图片出示单词 soil,shade,pleasant,fulfill,basic,并对每个单词加以举例应用。
Learn phrases:出示短语take energy from, in a word, be made from, It’s pleasant to do, fulfill one’s basic needs
