Inspire the emotion of loving pets.

Teaching procedures:
Step 1. Present
Show a picture. Ask the students to describe the picture. Then show the theme of this unit: Animals are our friends.
Step 2. Learn vocabulary
(1)Learn new words in a paragraph. Pay attention to the pronunciation.
(2)Word checking. Match the meaning of the new words quickly.
Step 3. Listen and judge
Ask a student to read the four sentences.
Play the audiotape for L13 and tell the students to listen carefully and answer true or false.
Check the answer as a class and correct any false statement.
Step 4: Read and answer
Part1: Read from “The doorbell is ringing” to “I think he will be glad to go.” and answer the two questions.
Q1: 1. Why does Danny want to go to the zoo?
Q2: 2. Has Brian been to the zoo?
Ask two students to answer the questions. Write down “have/ has been to”, “have/ has gone to”, “have/ has been in”. Differentiate them.
Part2: Read from “Danny screams” to “I have some donuts for you”
Q 3. Why does Danny scream?
Ask one student to answer this question.
In this part, we learn about two language points: “on a vacation” and “be afraid of”.
Part3: Read from “ Danny! Zoe likes to eat fish” to the end
Underline the sentences that describe the pets.
Example:
Zoe likes to eat fish.
Ask some students to show the answers.

Show some pictures that pets help people.
Step 5: Enjoy a video about pets to inspire the emotion of loving pets.
Step 6: Task: make a short dialogue.
