Teaching Procedures(教学过程)
Step 1 Lead-in
T:Do you like movies? Let’s enjoy this movie clip Zootopia . Then show the students the poster Zootopia and talk about the animals in the movie. Ask several questions to help present the language knowledge.
Q1. What animals do you see in the movie?
Q2. What animals are you scared of?
Q3. Can we feed any meat to rabbits?/
Can we feed rabbits on/with any meat?/
Do rabbits feed on meat instead of carrots?
Write the phrases on the blackboard: feed on, feed sth. to sb., feed sb. on/with sth., instead of.
Step 2 New words
Check the preview of the new words by playing with the word-diagram.
Step 3 Listen and answer
Play the listening material for Lesson 15. Ask the students to tick the correct answers(Let’s Do It! No.1).
Play the listening material a second time and ask the students some questions:
Q1. What mustn’t they do at the zoo?
Write No Photos! on the blackboard. Show the students some other warning signs No Photos! No Noise! No Parking! No Stepping! Fire Alarm! Exit! Then tell the students to follow/obey the rules in public.
Q2. Why can’t they take photos at the zoo?
Q3. What does Danny want to do with the bear?
Q4. Why don’t they have any pandas at the Edmonton zoo?
Step 4 Present
Explain the difference between danger and dangerous,then tell them the adverb form is dangerously. Help them think of the opposites, and write them on the blackboard.
Step 5 Retell the story
The students work in groups to retell the story. They can use the main phrases and sentences on the blackboard. (Pay attention to When, Where, Who, What and Why) Then ask several volunteers to retell the story in front of the class. After that, show them a short passage to retell the story together.
Step 6 Writing( The project)
T: Have you ever visited a zoo? Write a short composition about your trip to the zoo. Ask these questions to help the students.
1. When did you go to the zoo?
2. Who went to the zoo with you?
3. What animals did you see?
4. What animals did you like best?
5. Are zoos good or bad for animals? Why?
