Step1. Lead-in

Step2. Showing Learning Aims
Let the students stand, read them together. Then explain them.
Step3. Showing words and expressions
Let the students read these words and expressions by themselves. Give them two minutes. Then check them.
Step4. Come to “ Think About It”
Would you like to hold a classroom Olympics?
What events would your classroom Olympics have?
Step5. Practice
Let the two students do sit-ups and push-ups in the front of the classroom. When they do, others say loudly : “ sit-up, sit-up … push-up, push- up…” Write down who is the winner. Congratulations!
Step6. Listen and Answer
Listen to the tape and answer the following question: What’s Jenny favourite event?
Step7. Read and Fill
Let the students read the passage. Then discuss these questions with your deskmate. Last, show their answers on the blackboard.
Step8. Read and Answer
Let the students read the passage again. Then the first group read the first paragraph together, one student reads the first question, another translate the sentence, the third student answers, one by one.
Step9. Retelling
Together with the students, retell the passage. Then read the passage together.
Step10. Summary
The Olympics motto is : Higher, Faster, Stronger. As students, we should study hard, do more exercises to make our country stronger and stronger.
Step11. Homework
Write a letter to tell your friends about your classroom Olympics. Consider the following:
What events were there?
Did you win any events?
