二、展开过程，探究新知
Step 2：Pre-reading
1.Teach phrases and practice the sentence patterns.
Present the new words：graduate，remain，anti-，decision，aid，worst，condition，operate，government，medical等。Show some pictures of the new words on the screen.Ask Ss to try to read these words.在学习词组的过程中，通过师生对话操练。
T：Where was Bethune born?
S1：Canada.
T：Where did Bethune graduate from?
S1：The University of Toronto.
S2：What is Bethune famous for?
S3：He is famous for...
设计意图：通过图片学习生词，能让学生更好地理解新单词的含义。跟上句型练习，能有效记忆单词。
2.Have a competition game to practice the sentence patterns in pairs.
T：Now let’s play a word game.
教师把全班分为8个小组进行争夺获胜组游戏，教师通过屏幕展示分类的图片。要求学生把学过的生词归类并造句，说出单词最多、造句最多的组为获胜组！
