Teaching Procedure:
Step 1. Lead-in
Let the students talk about the following questions in groups:
1.Do you know any Chinese and English sayings? What are they?
2.Do you use saying in your daily life? Give an example .
Let the students talk about their ideas in groups ,and give them some correct comments.
Step 2. New words
1.Show Chinese and let the students speak out English.(Read and repeat.)
2.Let the students learn these word by heart.
Step 3.Listen to the text and answer the the following questions:
1. Are sayings important part of the language and culture of every society?
2. Where are the sayings from?
3. What is similar to "shi nian he dong, shi nian he xi" in English?
Step 4. Read the text further and underline the language points in this lesson. Then ask the students to present the questions in the class. Let the others try to find the answers. The teacher needs to give them right answers and explain the language points to them patients.
Make a list of the language points in this lesson:

Step 5：Let the students translate the following sayings.
S1: 爱屋及乌。
S2: 眼见为实。
S3:十年河东，十年河西。
S4: 行动重于言辞。
