Step 1: Lead in. Watch a short video and answer the questions.

Step3: Careful Reading.
Read the passage loudly and carefully and answer the questions.(细读、朗读课文并回答问题)
本环节分部分进行细读课文,针对每段落,教师设置了不同的问题。
1.What ’s the real situation after Sam moved to France? What’s his main problem?
Things were even worse than he imagined. It’s difficult for him to be accepted and be a part of a group.
2.How did he adapt to this new environment?
He did a little research on the Internet and discovered that smiling is a universal language on the Internet. He smiled at a group of students as they passed by, and a boy smiled back.
3.What’s the result after Sam smiled at a group of students?
One boy of the group asked Sam to join him and his group of friends for lunch . Sam had a group of friends and they all wanted to help him learn French .
