四 Teaching process:
Step1 Discussion: Ask the students to discuss the questions according to some pictures:
A What will our future life be like according to the following pictures?
(1) Our environment will be cleaner.We will drive solar--powered cars.
(2) People will have more time to relax themselves.
(3) Robots will do more work for people.
B What do you want to be when you grow up? Why?
Step2 Pre-reading
1 Learn the new words and some phrases:
boss manage/manager doubt wealth/wealthy astronaut pilot
engineer solar-powered(太阳能动力的)
grow up (长大) as for me/you/him(对我/你/他来说)
2 Listening:Ask the students to listen to the tape and answer the following questions:
What are the students doing in their English class?
What does Danny want to be when he grows up?
Step3 Reading:Ask the students to read the dialogue and finish the following tasks:
(1) What does Jenny want to?/Why? How about Brian?/Steve?/Kate?/Danny?
(2) What is Jenny's advice for Brian?
(3) What is Brian's advice for Danny?
Step4 Practice:
(1)Ask the students to act out the dialogue .
(2) Finish exercise 1 in "Let's do it."
Step5 Language points and practice:
