Pre-listening

1. Ask the Ss to have a brain storm about food then share in class.

2. Teach the key words about Price by pictures and drills on the screen:change,cent(¢),bill, yuan(¥) , pounds (£), dollars ($).

Drills like this:

-- How much is / are the … ?

-- It’s / They are ¢/¥ / £ / $ … .

Then ask them to practice in pairs and show in class.

3. The same ways with the key words about Weights.

4. The same ways with Unit Price, total and then practise with Unit Price, total by making dialogues. 1. Have a brain storm about food then share in class.

2. Learn the key words about Price by pictures and drills on the screen.

Drills like this:

-- How much is / are the … ?

-- It’s / They are ¢/¥ / £ / $ …

Then practice in pairs and show in class.

3. The same ways with the key words about Weights.

While-listening 1. Ask them to do a prediction about the 6 blanks in the listening.

2. Ask them to listen to Dialogue 1 and complete Receipt 1.

3. Ask some students to share their answers in class and check.

4.Make a drill about Receipt 1 with a student like this:

Customer: How much are tomatoes?

Seller:They are ¥ 7.60 / kg.
