The pronunciations of some words and the month each season begins.

Learning procedures:

Step One: Greetings

Step Two: Show the learning goals.

Introduce the learning goals of this lesson, and let students read the learning goals.

Step Three: Revision

Review the words about the seasons and months. At first, show one word “year”, let students say out its meaning, then show one picture, ask students “How many seasons are there in one year?” “What are they?” Show the words “spring, summer, autumn, winter”. And ask students “How many months are there in one year?” “What are they?” “Spring is from…to….” , show the words on the slide.

Let students say out the words just reviewed according to some numbers.

Step Four: Before reading.

Show some pictures about the famous places in Beijing, and tell students how to say them in English.

Step Five: While reading.

Read firstly--Read about the weather in Beijing as quickly as you can. Match the paragraphs (1-4 ) with the pictures (a-d).

Read secondly—At first, read the first paragraph and the second paragraph, and complete the table. Then read the third paragraph and the fourth paragraph, complete the table.

Read thirdly—Ask some students to read the passage one paragraph by one paragraph, and check the pronunciations.

Read fourthly—Ask students to read all the passage loudly, and have a pair work(ask and answer).Then ask some pairs to show their questions and answers.

Step Five: After reading.

Talk about the weather in your hometown , you can choose one season to describe.

Eg. I live in …, the …is from …to …, it’s ….

In …, we can ….

Step Six: Summary

Step Seven: Homework

Describe the weather in your homework in other seasons.
