Step 1. Warming up (5mins)

I will ask students to watch a video about Spring Festival.
3. Brain storming.(3mins)
I will guide students to talk about the festivals in China.
Step 2. Pre-listening(16mins)
(1) Some pictures will be showed on the PPT to lead to the new vocabulary.(8mins)
T: Please look at this picture. What are they doing?
S: They are making lanterns.
T: What about this one? What are they doing.
S: They are learning a dragon dance.
Memory check(2mins)
Different pictures will be used to check students’ memory about the new expressions.
(3). Pair work.(3mins)
(4) Students will be required to match the pictures with the expressions in activity1 before listening.(3mins)
Step 3 While listening(10mins)
Mini-listening (3mins)
Students will be asked to listen and number the pictures in activity2.
Extensive listening(3mins)
I will ask students to listen to the tape and answer two simple questions.
Q1. Who are they talking on the phone?
Q2. Are they getting ready for Spring Festival?
Intensive listening(4mins)
I will play the recording again and ask students to match the persons with activities they are doing.
