Step 2 Listening
1.Play the recording in Activity 1 and ask the students to listen and check the number of speakers.
2.Play it again and ask the students to check the words they hear.
3.Check the answers with the whole class.
Step 3 Listening and reading
1.Play the recording in Activity 3 and ask the students to listen and answer the questions. Then check the answers.
2.Play it again and have the students check the true sentences in Activity 3. Ask some students to correct the wrong ones.
3.Divide the students into groups of five to practice the dialogue. The students repeat it several times, changing roles each time.
4.Choose some groups to act it out in front of the whole class.
5.Ask the students to sum up the useful sentences in the dialogue and introduce “Everyday English”.
6.Let the students finish Activities 4-5 in pairs. Then the teacher checks the answers.
Step 4 Pronunciation
1.Explain that Activity 6 focuses on some English phonemes which are difficult to pronounce for Chinese people.
2.Play the recording once without stopping.
3.Play it again and ask the students to repeat.
4.Practice pronouncing the words in pairs, and correct each other's mistakes.

1.Ask the students to talk about the pictures by asking and answering questions in pairs.
