Step 1: lead in

The teacher will start the lesson with greetings and self introduction and show the useful sentence structrue on the PPT.

My name is … I’m … years old. I am from … I am a …

My friend is … What about you?

Ask the students to introduce themselves in groups by using these sentences.

设计意图:通过自我介绍自然导入,由于基本句式学生在小学基本都接触过,所以把基本句式展示给大家,让学生组内做自我介绍,让学生体会我会用英语介绍自己的成就感,调动课堂气氛,使课堂生活化,情景化,同时提高学生学英语的兴趣。

Step2:preparation

1. Ask the students to make a name card by asking these questions.

What's your name? Where are you from?

How old are you? Which class are you in?

Nice to meet you.

设计意图:创设情境,给出任务,展示目标语言,让学生在完成任务的同时学会运用目标语言,同时在这里介绍一下西方的文化:比如不能询问女士和老人的年龄以及询问别人信息时要有礼貌等。

2. ?Read the new words according to the phonetic symbol s.

Show students three film stars which they like very much. And ask them to guess where they are from with the sentence structure

Is he/she from …? Yes, he/she is.

No, he/she isn’t. He /she is from…

设计意图: 利用学生比较熟悉的动画卡通人物或影视人物,创设情境,训练目标语言,提高学生学习兴趣。”Where is he from?””He is from…”是唯一一个询问和介绍人物时比较新的句式,此环节意在加强此句式的训练,同时为 下一活动的展开做铺垫。

Step 3: Listening

Play the recording in activity 3 and ask the students to listen

and answer the questions. Then check the answers.

(1) How many people speak in the conversation?

(2) Who are they?
