1. be able to describe the characteristics of animals, using some new adjectives.

2. be able to show preferences for some animals and give reasons as well.

IV. Teaching steps 教学过程

Step 1. Warming-up and lead in

Bring two animal toys to the class and ask the students if they like them and then play a video about animals .After watching it ,ask the students to answer two questions: What animals can we see in the video ? Where can we see so many animals ?

设计意图: 用视频导入,来活跃气氛,将话题引入到本课相关的动物上。通过问题引导学生说出视频中动物的英文名称,激发学生的兴趣,引出下个教学步骤。

Step 2. Presentation

Show some incomplete pictures of animals and ask the students to guess what animal it is .Students try to guess and remember the names of the animals.

设计意图:Students motivate their learning interest by saying the names of animals using what they have learned.

Ask the students to describe some animals, express preferences, and give the reasons in groups, and then in class.

设计意图: Enable the students use description words to talk about animals and tell the reasons .利用学生熟悉和感兴趣的图片教形容词,简单易懂、便于记忆 。
