VI. Teaching procedures:

Step1: Warming-up

By using a cartoon, lead the topic of the lesson.

Step2: Brain storm

By using a brain storm game, help the students understand and remember some of the words and sentences.

Have a general idea of the key structure appeared in the game.

Step3: Listening

① Play the tape once for the students to answer the question individually;

② Listen again and choose the best answer;

③ Listen for the third time and complete the conversation;

④ Have the students follow the conversation and read;

⑤ Read the conversation in pairs and show their conversations in class;

⑥ Help the students summarize the sentences of what salespersons and customers may

use.

Step4: Speaking

① Choose the correct sentence to complete the conversation;

② Check the answers in class;

③ Read the conversation in pairs and show their conversations in class;

④ Add some sentences of what salespersons and customers usually say.

Step5: Tasks

Shopping task 1

① Ask students to buy things on the shopping list. Make a short conversation in pairs.

One is the salesperson, the other is the customer.

② Make a conversation by themselves and show their conversations in class.

Shopping task 2

① Ask the students what fruits their mother likes, and to buy some in the market.

Make a conversation between the student and the salesperson.

② Make a conversation by themselves and show their conversations in class.
