By the end of this session, most students will be able to acquire the information about online shopping and understand the targeted reading material. They can learn the advantages and disadvantages about online shopping. Meanwhile, students may be able to predict what online shopping will be like in the future and they will think of some ways to keep a balance of online shopping and offline shopping. Their thinking abilities will be developed. These will be achieved by the following:
Teach the students to apply the basic reading strategies to understand the passage, such as predicting, skimming, scanning and guessing the meaning of the new words from the context.
Ask students to have some reading practice, e.g. read the passage for key information of advantages and disadvantages, predict shopping in the future .
Lead students to discuss with the group members and have a debate.
The discussion with group members is very helpful for students to get more ideas. After discussion, students will be able to have a debate between online shopping and offline shopping. They will give many reasons to support their idea. It’s also a way to put what they have learned from reading into use.

It may be difficult for students to improve the logical thinking, critical thingking and creative thinking.
Solutions:
Use the reading material to help students learn some basic information about online shopping. Lead students to discuss in groups and share some critical or creative thinking with each other. A debate is prepared for them to show their ideas and improve their reading and speaking abilities.

Lead students to talk about the title and the pictures(Online shopping).
(Students may find it easy to talk about the pictures or title, the teacher can help students to have more confidence to read.)
Teacher helps students to express their own ideas about online shopping before reading by aksing a question: Is online shopping good or bad?
The title and pictures will be well used to predict the passage, which may make the reading easier to understand. As one of the most important reading strategies in reading class, it can stimulate students desire for reading.
