Teaching Procedure:

Step 1 Warming –up (leading into the topic)

Students are encouraged to sing a song with the teacher.

Students are asked to talk about their plans for a sunny day.

Teacher share her plan for a sunny day---shopping.

Teaching purpose: To encourage every student to get involved in the English class. And it also helps to go smoothly into the unit topic “go shopping for Mother’s Day”.

Step 2 Speaking (reviewing vocabulary)

Students are invited to talk about the places they usually shop.

Teacher shows more shopping places by playing a guessing game.

Students try to advise the teacher on where to buy different things.

Teaching purpose: To encourage Ss to speak more and make them more confident.

Step 3 Listening

Students listen to activity 2& activity 3 and answer the questions.

Teacher calls back the students’ answers individually.

Teaching purpose: To practice the ability of abstracting information form listening

Step 4 Reading

Boys and girls read out the dialogue in different roles.

Teaching purpose: To make them understand the passage and get more familiar with some new words and expressions. It also helps to get well ready for role play.

Step 5 Role play

Students are divided into groups of 4.

They are given some time to prepare a dialogue about shopping.

Students are invited to perform in front of the class.

Teaching purpose: To encourage Ss to speak more and act more. They are inspired to be the main role in the English lesson. It also helps to get more familiar with the language about shopping.
