课前准备一些与本模块话题相关的图片和资料,让学生在warming-up时观看和谈论。围绕本模块话题展开听说读写的全面训练,使学生熟悉含有动词be的过去式 (was / were)的一般过去时。
三.教学方法
以说为主要教学方式,以讨论为主要方法,通过同桌讨论和小组以及全班讨论,让每个学生充分练习口语和说的能力,并将听说读写有机地贯穿一体。设立一些语言环境,结合自己或他人的过去生活和经历,最后一起学习本模块的重、难点,为突破重、难点再做一些课堂和课后的练习。
四.教学过程
Step 1 Warm up
Show some pictures of the primary school where students used to study in. Let them talk about their first school:
---What was the name of your first school?
---My first school was……
Teach the new words: strict., friendly
Ask the students questions like:
What is your Chinese/math/English teacher like?
What was your first teacher like?
Then lead in Unit 1 I was born in a small village.
Make the students to talk like this:
---Where were you born? ---I was born in…
---When were you born? ---I was born …
Again show pictures of two students. Make them answer some questions:
Was she born in 2002? Yes, she was. /No, she wasn’t.
Was he from …? Yes, he was. / No, he wasn’t.
Who was her/his first teacher?
What was her/his first teacher like?
Where was she/ he born?
Step 2 Listen and number the questions as you hear them.
a. Who was your first teacher?
b. What was your first school like?
c. Where were you born?
d. Was she strict?

Step3:Listen again and check (√) the true sentences.
