Step1. Lead in 教师活动学生活动活动目的Ask some questions about stories and go through Around the world together with students.

Let students enjoy a story told by the monitor.

Told them to pay attention to the tense used in the story and what the story wants to tell us.Look at the pictures and answer the questions.

2.Show students sentences and tell them to find the key verbs, then say out rules about how to change an original verb into the past form.

Have students say how to transform sentences and do some practice.

Check the answers in Part1and 2 on Page 53.

To prepare for writing a storyStep 3 Preparation 教师活动学生活动活动目的Have students ask and answer in pairs according the passage in Part2 on Page 53.

Have students read the passage in Part 2 again and find out the words or expressions that can join sentences together.

Add more connectives that are often used while writing a story.

Ask students to make up their own short stories in groups of 5.

Give an example and lead them to pay attention to five elements.

4. Ask three groups to share the stories with the whole class.1.Ask and answer in pairs.

2.Read the passage and try to find connectives.

3.Think and say out more connectives.

4. Try to make up a good story together.

Share the stories with the whole class. To understand a story.

To learn how to make a story sensible and complete.

To learn to do teamwork.

To have a chance to say as much as possible according their ability.

Step 4 Production教师活动学生活动活动目的Have a competition between two big groups.

Show students pictures about two stories and ask each big group to write a story , compete ,and choose the better group.

Ask some of the students to read his/her story. Write a story alone or together with others.
