Step 1 Warming up
1. Play a guessing game. Give some tips of some fairy tales, have the students guess the names of them.
(Purpose of design: Review how to tell a story , recall the concept of fairy tales and lead in the content of Around the world.)
Read fairy tales in Around the world and answer the questions.
(Purpose of design: Get to know about the customs around the world, and arouse the students’ interest in reading fairy tales.)
Step 2 Consolidation
Summarize how to tell a story.
(Purpose of design: Review how to tell a story and help the students prepare for the retelling.)
2. Present the pictures of Goldilocks and the three bears. Have the students retell the story.
3. Complete the sentences with the correct form of the words from the box in Activity 1.
4. Ask and answer the questions in Activity 2. Then complete the passage with the correct forms of the words from the box.
