Teaching steps.
Step 1 Pre-reading(Activity 1)
1.Background information
Show students some pictures and give them some background information about body language.
T: Hello everyone! How are you today? Today we are going to talk about body language. Do you know anything about body language?
Step 2 While-reading(Activities 2&3)
1.Skimming.
Have students read the passage quickly and choose the main idea of the passage.
2.Careful reading.
Have the students read the passage carefully and answer the questions in Activity 2.
Step 3 Post-reading(Activities 3&4)
1.Have the students finish the exercises in Activities 3&4.
2.Check the answers in class.
Step 4 Writing(Activities 5&6)
1.Have the students look at the sentences in Activity 5 and let them speak out more sentences about class rules.
Possible sentences:
—Can we sleep in the classroom?
—No, we can't.
2.Pair-work
Let the students discuss class rules in Activity 6 in pairs.
3.Have the students make a list of class rules with the answers from Activity 5.
4.Group work
(1)Let students present their writings in groups.
(2)Let them check each other's writings.
(3)Ask some students to read their writings in class.
