Look at a picture about Lao She Teahouse now in Beijing, a picture of the play Teahouse and a picture of LaoShe.
Students talk about the pictures with the questions :
1. What’s special about Lao She Teahouse?
2. What is the relationship between Lao She and Lao She Teahouse?
3. What do you know about Lao She?
4. What else do you wonder?
Aim : To know what they have known about Lao She and arouse the students’ interest.
Step 3. Reading.
Ⅰ.Pre-reading
Let’s come to the title(Read the title with e-pen.) and try to predict what “it” refers to . How do you know that:
It describes the changes in Chinese society.
Then check the answer.
Aim: To know how to make sure what “it” refers to .
Ⅱ.While reading
