Step 1 before reading

1. watch and predict

1) A brief self-introduction;

2) Play a video and ask questions:

What kind of people can you see from the video?

What programs can you see from the video?

Lead to the key word: “teahouse” and present some of the new words about it.

(audience, customer, waiter, traditional, magic)

2. watch and predict

Show a picture of today’s Lao She Teahouse, predict more information about Teahouse------the writer of the play and origin of Lao She Teahouse.

3. look ,think and predict

Look at the picture on the book and ask:

Can you predict the main idea of the passage from the video and the photos on the book?

4. reading strategy

Summarize the reading strategy of “prediction” -----understand the main idea from the photo and paragraph headings.
