Step 1. Leading-in
Activity 1 Warming-up (4 mins)
1. Play a video about earthquake and ask Ss “what did you see in the video” and “how do you think of earthquake”
2. Teacher pretends to be a “CCTV propogandist”, introducing some basic knowledge about earthquake.
Step 2. Language practice
Activity 2 Free Talk (5 mins)
Show some pictures of Ss’ earthquake drill and talk freely:“what should we do during an earthquake?”
Activity 3 Game Time (3 mins)
Play a game: to choose the correct methods to help yourself during an earthquake.
Activity 4 Watch and say (3mins)
Look at the pictures in Activity1 in Page 98 and answer:
1. Where are the people?
2. What are they doing? Why?
Activity 5 Read and answer (7 mins)
Read the passage and answer questions (Multiple Choice; T/F; Fill in blanks; questions)

Play a cartoon video. Ss repeat sentence by sentence with stops.
