Pre-reading
Step1
Lead in and warming up
The teacher greets the students and show them some beautiful pictures of nature. After that,the teacher will show the students some pictures of the disasters in the nature.Such as the earthquake and floods to lead to the topic of today.
Step2
After showing the pictures ,the teacher will show them a video about the earthquake to make the Ss shocked about the earthquake.
Step3
The Ss are going to talk about what to do inside and outside when an earthquake comes according to the pictures in the book.
Whlie-reading
Step4
The Ss are going to read the passage for the first time and find out the basic outline of the passage by matching the main idea of each paragraph.
Step5.
The Ss are going to read the passage again and get some specific information, The teacher will take the inside part as an example to lead the Ss find out the information in this part and then after that the Ss are going to work by themselves to find out the information in the next part. During this period the Ss will be able to feel the language function of the Imperative as well as getting the specific information of this para.

The Ss will read the passage for the third time and think about a question deeply :What if you are trapped somewhere? The popurse of this question is to let the Ss learn to be faithful ,hopeful and helpful in any sudden danger and precious life.

The teacher will play a game called an earthquake expert with the Ss
The teacher will set an simulated situation about an earthquake to put what the Ss have learnt in to practice.
After that the Ss are going to talk about the safe places and the dangerous places in their school.Finally, they will come up with a composition of their own.

Homework
Think of a sudden danger such as a fire or a flood and search for some information of it and write a passage about it and tell people about it.
