To enable students to talk about their favourite cartoons and create their own cartoons.
教学过程
4.1 第一学时
4.1.1 教学活动
Step 1: lead in —— guessing game and revision of vocabulary
The teacher shows some famous cartoon characters on the screen and asks the students if they like cartoons?
The teacher tells them that they are going to have a trip in the cartoon world.
First of all, they can play a guessing game. The teacher will show a cartoon hero on the screen piece by piece. If any one of the students knows the answers, they can stand up at once and say the hero’s name.
The answer is Captain America.
The teacher asks the students if they like him and if they know him well.
Then the teacher displays an introduction to Captain America on the screen, but some words are missing. So the students need to complete the sentences.
The teacher gives a toy cat to students and asks them them to pass it from one to another when the music begins. When the music stops, the student who has the toy cat should stand up to complete one sentence.
After completing all the sentences, the students should read these sentences aloud together.
Step 2:Listening (Activity 4 and Activity 5)
Teacher: Captain America always fight against bad people to make the world peaceful. He is a real hero in the cartoon world. And who is the real hero in our real world?
Students: Policeman.
Teacher: Are all the policemen good at fighting bad people?
Students: No.
Teacher: Have a look at this picture: a policeman and a young man. What happens? Does the policeman catch the young man? Think about it and number the pictures.
(The students number the pictures and then check the answers by inviting a student to answer the question.)
Teacher: Now, please listen to the tape carefully and then mark true (T) or false (F). Before listening, please read these sentences together.
(Check the answers one by one. If the sentence is wrong, students need to correct it.)
Teacher: Do you get the joke? What do you think of this policeman?
Students: Silly/ Stupid...
Teacher: Well, if you will be a policeman or policewoman in the future, please be smart.
Step 3:Grammar (Activity 1 and Activity 2)
Teacher: The policeman in this cartoon story can’t fight bad people. But I know a cartoon hero who always beats bad people. Do you want to know who he is?
(The teacher shows the picture of Popeye, and then teaches the new word “spinach”.)
Teacher: Please turn to Page 38. There is a passage about Popeye. Please complete this passage and get to know about this hero.
(Check the answer. Students are required to say why they use present simple tense, past simple tense or present perfect tense. And the teacher highlights the hints.)
