Step 1 A guessing game

Teacher: “In this module we have talked a lot about hobbies. Now let’s revise something about hobbies. We are going to do a guessing game. Boys and girls, I want you to have a competition from now on. I will give you one mark if you get the right answer. If you know the answer, just stand up and tell me. Let me see how excellent you are. Are you ready? Let’s go.”

Let students compete to guess what their hobbies are.

Step 2 Classify different hobbies ( Activity 5)[Competition goes on]

Teacher: “Different people have different hobbies. Let’s put the words and expressions into the correct columns. Please turn to Page 53. Look at Activity 5. Let’s finish it as quickly as we can. Go!”

Let students do by themselves and then check the answers. Finally let students talk about their own hobbies.

Step 3 Do a survey

Teacher: “I want to know what your hobbies are. Just put up your hands and show me.”

Step 4 Listening practice (Activity 6)[Competition goes on]

Teacher:“Please turn to Page 54. Look at Activity 6. ”

Listen twice and check the answers.

Step 5 Distillation of language—Hobbies can help you grow as a person

Teacher: “As we all know, hobbies can help us grow as a person . Let’s learn about somebody great. Let’s see how hobbies make him successful. Do you know him? ”

Learn something about Yang Liwei by asking and answering.

Teacher: “So, boys and girls, let’s keep on with our hobbies and work hard. I believe that you will be someone successful because you are always so clever. Right? ”

Step 6 Observe
