Step 1:Lead-in
Greetings and sing a song about hobbies together.
[Purposes] Lead in the topic and make students easy to start this class.
Step 2:Revise words and phrases of this module
1.Have a brainstorm: Let students list as many hobbies as their can.
[Purposes] Make students revise the words and phrases about hobbies, and let them speak English in class. At the same time, let them get ready for the next part.
2.Finish Act.5 on P53.
[Purposes] Revise the words and phrases by doing exercises.
3.Read some other key expressions and play a game
[Purposes] Revise the words and phrases by reading and playing. Let students learn by playing and play by learning.
Step 3: Have a guessing game
Let students guess: What is my hobby?
When did I start travelling?
Why do I like travelling?
[Purposes] In this game, let students learn to use the words and phrases to talk about Teacher’s hobby. At the same time, develop students’ speaking skill and get ready for the next activities.
Step 4: Have a listening (Activity6 on Page54)
1.Listen carefully and complete the diagram(If necessary, play it for twice.)
2.Listen again and then answer the question: Why is it good to have hobbies?
[Purposes] In this part, let students try to understand the conversation about hobbies and get information by listening.
3. Read the conversation in roles.
[Purposes] Let students check the answers and easily understand the conversation by reading. What’s more, let students feel sure of themselves by reading in roles.
