Analysis of the teaching content:
1. Status:
This is the first lesson of the module, introducing different people’s hobbies through a passage. Cultural differences are part of moral education in school. Students will learn ways to introduce their own hobbies and others’ and tell why they keep the hobby. This lesson aims at promoting listening and speaking skills.
2. Key points:
To understand the listening material on hobbies and learn the structure of the listening material
3. Difficult points:
To master target words and try to interpret those word in English and describe their hobbies using gerund as objects.
Analysis of the students:
The topic “hobby” is close related to student’s life, so it is easy to arise their interests and it is a common topic for them to talk with friends and even helps them make new friends. Moreover, students might be curious about other students’ hobbies so activities involving students together as groups will be appropriate and good for arousing their interest.
