1. Have the students understand the information in the advertisement in Activity 4. Then complete the six sentences with the words or expression in the box. Choose some students to speak out how they have filled in the sentences.
2. Tell the students to imagine they are going to take a summer English course in Australia. Put them in pairs to discuss what questions they would want to ask the course organisers. They should try to use some of the words and expression in the box in Activity 4.
Step 4 Practice
1. Ask the students to read the words and expressions in the box in Activity 6 and understand their meanings. Then read the conversation fast and complete it.
2. Check answers as a whole class.
3. Ask the students to perform the conversation in pairs.
Step 5 Listening
1. Ask the students to read the five questions in Activity 7 first and guess what the recording may be about.
2. Play the tape. The students listen to it carefully and take notes.
3. Play the tape again and tell the students to complete the advertisement in Activity 8.
4. Show the tapescript to the students to check their listening.
Step 6 Around the world
1. Ask the students to read the text and try to understand it. They can talk with partners or look up the new words in the dictionary.
2. Let the students read more information about summer camps.
Step 7 Group work
1. Tell the students to think about the answers to the questions in Activity 9. Write good things and bad things about taking summer courses.
2. Take part in the class discussion and take notes.
3. Work in pairs and write sentences describing the conclusions of the class discussion. Show your own opinion.
4. Choose two or four students to present their ideas.
Step 8 Homework
