Ⅰ. Analysis of teaching material
This part is the first topic of the last unit of the eighth grade. It focuses on clothes and carries out the study of related knowledge. Such topic is so common for our students to talk about in their daily life. It also provides important grammar for the students to master: “Adverbial clauses of the results” with “so…that; such…that” and “Adverbial clause of purpose” with “..so that…”. The students are easily confused about them and need to be strengthened.
Ⅱ.Key points and difficult points
Key points:
Be able to master the expressions and communicate with each other.
Be able to have a talk about shopping and dating by using the sentences they have learned.
Difficult points:
How to use “ “Adverbial clauses of the results”and “Adverbial clauses of purpose” correctly.
Ⅲ. Analysis of students
The students of my class are willing to learn and master new knowledge. At present, they can express their own ideas with simple oral English. Most of them can retell the dialog at the end of the class.
Ⅳ. Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Warm up
Enjoy an English song. Lead to the usage of“so…that”
Step 2 Presentation
Show some pictures. Let the Ss make sentences with “so…that”
Present the grammar.

Step 3 Practice
Let the Ss do some exercises by using “so…that”such… that”and “ so that”
Show a picture to review different kinds of clothes.
Have a competition. Invite four students to write down the names of clothes as many as possible.
Inflection Check the answers with the Ss and read them together.
Review some important phrases and useful expressions.
