My good friend in England
I think a good friend should be honest and helpful. I have a good friend in England. She is Janice. And she is my host in England. She is 64 years old but she looks very young. She is outgoing and kind. She is not so tall but elegant(优雅的). She is also a teacher and she enjoys teaching like me. So we often talk about our teaching and our students.
She helped me a lot when I was in England. One day I had dinner with my classmate in her homestay family. At nine p.m., Janice sent a message to me and asked me to send her the address so that she could pick me up. It is not far from my homestay but she was worried about my safety and she didn’t hope that I walked alone at night. I was so moved(感动的). My classmate said that I was lucky to meet such a kind host in England. Day by day, we became good friends.
After I come back to China, we still stay in touch with each other by email. I miss her very much. I will see her if I have a chance to go back to England.
I think friendship is very important in our life. We can’t live without friends.
Step 5 Check the ways the writer describes Janice.
After reading the passage about Janice, the work in groups to check the ways the writer describes Janice and show where they can find them.
(Purpose: Find out the ways to describe people.)
