According to the teaching objectives, The key points are to

a ) learn to cognize and define certain words as they are listening to the passage.

b ) have a good command of the structures of passive voice through inductive method.

c ) motivate the students think critically and creatively about great inventions.

d) develop the students’ love for our country and the spirit of creation.

The difficult points are to

a )understand the deep relationship between the passive voice and different tenses.

b) use the proper tenses of passive voice to solve practical problems.

c) obtain, promote, and create ideas individually.

Task 1 Lead- in and review

Step 1 lead in

To lead in the class, the teacher will

first let the students talk about the Chinese great inventions they know in the past.

Two videos of paper making and printing which belongs to the Chinese great inventions will be given to them.

The students will

talk about the Chinese great inventions they know in the past.

say something about their feelings of the past great inventions ,maybe good or bad.

Purpose:

To activate the students’ background knowledge and the videos will arouse their interest.

To lead the students think critically about the great inventions in the past.

Step 2 Review

The teacher presents a short passage which the students have learnt in unit2

(The same module). This content of the passage is also about the invention of paper making and printing.
