Step 2. Predicting ( task 2)
1) Before reading the passage, can you predict what the passage talks about? (Ask a student to answer)
2) How do you get the answer? ( from the picture)
3) Reading skill: the title or the picture can help you to understand a text quickly.
Step 3. Skimming ( task 3 )
Skim the passage and match the main idea of each paragraph

Para. 4 ( The ways of saving pandas.)
Step 4. Scanning ( task 4 )
1) What’s the meaning of scanning?
2) Scan the passage and find out the meanings of these words.( 10, 12, 300, 2000 )
12: 12 hours a day
10: about 10 kilos of bamboo
300: 300 or so pandas
2000: fewer than 2000 pandas
Step 5. Careful reading ( task 5)
