Step 1 Lead-in
Sing the gradutation song together to lead in the topic “The future life” and arouse students’ interest.
Learn the new words and pay attention to polysemy(一词多义).
Step 2. Listening
Before the party:talk about Betty’s school-leavers’ party and listen to the dialogue for the first time to the answer the question(general idea) and then listen for the second time to fill in the blanks for details.
Join in the party:
listen to the other dialogue and find out their true feelings;
Listen again and complete the notes;
Watch the video and read the dialogue;
Step 3 Post-listening
Fill in the blanks to summarize;
Summarize the main points of the dialogue with the help of the mind map and discuss in a group of 4 to make a dialogue or a report to plan their own school-leavers’ party.
Step 4 Summary and self-assessment
Summarize with the students what they learn today and assess their own performance in class.
